It's Happening!

Wow! This project has been on my heart for some time now, and I am beyond excited that it is finally happening! Let me begin by telling you who I am, about my little family, and my purpose for this platform.

I am Gracie, a stay-at-home mama to a beautiful little girl, Wilma. I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, where I quickly returned following my graduation from the University of Alabama. There, I received my BS of Education and became certified in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I taught for 4 years in Huntsville, primarily in kindergarten.

I married my husband May of 2020 with an intimate outdoor ceremony, after switching plans on a dime. A year later, we renewed our vows and celebrated our marriage with our friends and family in Orange Beach.

A few months later, July 2021, we found out we were pregnant with our little, Wilma. I am one of those weird people who LOVED pregnancy (except maybe that I couldn't sleep on my tummy anymore). During my pregnancy, I wrote a book to announce the baby to my kindergarteners, drank entirely too much chocolate milk, and did THE MOST when it comes to research.

I read books, listened to podcasts, watch birth story videos, took classes through our hospital, and followed account after account... after account. If you haven't already heard it from someone else, PUT THE PHONE DOWN! There is so much information out there-- and yes, research is good-- but it can become all-consuming! If you download all the tracking apps, watch all the reels, read all the articles, and that eases your mind, great! But if all of that makes your head spin and you feel instant mom-guilt (you can definitely feel the mom-guilt even when babe is still in there growin'), turn off your phone, and pick up your bible, your journal, or your warm cup of coffee.

Romans 11:36 says, "All things are from him and through him and for him..." God has provided you with this miracle of life. He has given you a safe vessel to grow this child in. He has provided you with the heart, knowledge, and literal substance to provide for this baby.

My little, Wilma, is now 6 months old, and I have found that through the little moments--sitting on the front porch, listening to her happy sounds, and reading the Word-- I find the most peace and joy. Sure, milestones and mental leaps are exciting, but have you ever just sat in awe of God's creation sitting (maybe laying... maybe even sleeping, if you're lucky) in front of you!

I urge you to take some time this week, whether you can find time each day, or maybe once, to just BE. Be with God. Have your littles around, maybe have your spouse around too. But as you sit, with no other distractions, praise God for the little moments with your littles.

I hope to use this platform to give you a catch-all of blessings from God, funny memories, helpful hints, etc. If that is something that interest you, I hope you stick around to follow my journey of Little Moments with Littles.

*Heavenly Father, I pray that those who reach this platform know your love-- whether they are believers or not, I know that you blanket them. Father, give us the peace to sit in the little moments this week. May we seek to glorify you in every thought, every word, and every action-- for all things are from you, for you, and through you. Amen*
